Frederick Lenz, Rama
Frederick Lenz, Rama was an enlightened American Buddhist teacher, author, speaker, and musician. Well known for his charismatic approach to engaging his students, Rama loved sharing the gifts of humor, light, and magic in each and every interaction.
Although Rama had his first spiritual experience at the age of 3, he only began a formal meditation practice after taking a trip to Nepal at age 18. As he meditated regularly he quickly fell in love with the light he experienced (sometimes meditating several hours a day!) and he began the practice of receiving and transmitting that light to others as a meditation teacher in 1981.
He authored books and conducted live teaching events on the topics of basic, intermediate, and advanced Buddhist meditation practices (he referred to as “American Buddhism”) to help others attain enlightenment. Rama passed away in 1998 cherished by many who will forever miss his kind heart, generosity in teaching, and bright, humorous spirit.
His teachings live on carried on by many of his past direct students, who he mentored closely from 1981-1998.
The Enlightenment Workbook
The Enlightenment workbook was written by Samvara, who studied directly under Frederick Lenz, Rama for 7 years.
In the Enlightenment Workbook, Samvara shares these teachings with others in hopes that they too will come to experience the transformation, light, and bliss that Rama offered his students. The thought-provoking assignments are designed for spiritual awakening in today’s modern world.
